Refresh Seattle: Lessons Learned Designing Onehub

Matt AndersonOver time, every web professional develops their own set of opinions, methods and styles. Find out how designing a web service from the ground up challenged everything in my creative comfort zone.

We’ll discuss web standards, semantics, frameworks, even job titles. How each of those can be either empowering or stifling. I’ll share my lessons learned and reveal how they changed the way that I think and work as a designer.

In the process, I hope to inspire you to take risks and question conventional wisdom.

MonoCase.

“MonoCase (former Me+You) is digital designer Emil Olssons platform for random play and experiments. This is my Rubiks Cube. On showcase here is a mix of projects I do professionaly and things I do just for fun. I’ve been working in the Internet industry for over 10 years and I’m currently working as Lead Designer at Bazooka Interactive. At Bazooka I work for large swedish clients such as SonyEricsson, Freemantle, H&M, TV4, Tele2, Seat, Regeringskansliet but also smaller actors like the photographer Andreas Lind, the Latvian pop star Dj Ella and the hair studio Folk Stockholm to name some. I also take on small art projects and of course every project is treated with the same care and attention.”

D///FEST 2008 Flash Visualization

D3Normally most inspirational things are just for the senses to take in and your brain to ponder on afterward. With D///FEST2008, they take it one further and have made their Flash visualization line clock an open source download. It’s based on NullDesign’s 3D engine, which is another interesting bit of code to check out.
